| Turkish walls surround ancient Jerusalem (the Old City), constructed in the 16th century by Suleiman the Magnificent. The Old City has four sections - the Jewish, Moslem, Christian and Armenian Quarters, in addition to the Temple Mount. Just outside of the city walls lies Mt Zion and the Dormition Abbey as well as the remains of the original City of David from 3000 years ago. |
