Jerusalem as the capital of modern Israel

Despite intense international pressure, David Ben Gurion, the founding father of modern Israel declared Jerusalem as the capital of modern Israel. Jerusalem is home for the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament. It's 120 lawmakers represent a wide variety of political parties and opinions. The Knesset serves as the nerve center of modern Israel and of the only true democracy in the Middle East.
