Tribal Bedouins
The Negev is populated by two different peoples that live in harmony. In addition to the cities (Beer Sheba, Dimona, Mitzpeh Ramon and Yerucham), the Negev is the home of the Bedouin nomads that live from their flocks of sheep, goats and camels. The camel is still the preferred means of transportation of the Negev Bedouin. It can march for 17 consecutive days in the desert heat without a drop of water to drink. After reaching the water hole, the camel will drink for 8 hours non-stop and immediately be ready to depart for an additional prolonged desert sojourn.
