Sea of Galilee

The Galilee served as the center of Jesus activity for over three years before his ascent to Jerusalem. Raised in Nazareth, Jesus ministered around the Sea of Galilee, where he walked upon the water and healed the sick and blind. Here, on the site of the Church of the Beatitudes, Jesus offered the Sermon on the Mount where he declared "Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth".
